Lochbach Ravine
A very special type of 8.5 km hiking path begins in Wallenstein and leads directly from there into the Lochbach ravine, a rugged gorge with wellsprings which pour out into the wildly romantic natural landscape between Hülsa and Wallenstein. Numerous wooden bridges and resting benches invite you to linger. Arriving out on the open fields at Hülsa, you hike through sparsely-vegetated meadows with diverse flora and enjoy the wonderful outlook over the Knüll mountains with the Knüllköpfchen (634m) and the Eisenberg (636m).
Well-signposted, the Lochbach path leads on to the Ferdinand Kersting hiking cabin with a vista over the idyllic Rinne valley all the way to the Kellerwald forest. Always along the edge of the forest, you finally arrive at the Kankowski cabin. Here you can make a worthwhile excursion into the Knüll Wildlife Park. You can go back to the starting point over the Ebigköpfchen (426m), where once again you can take a rest and enjoy tranquil nature.
