The Puss in Boots as an over-sized wooden sculpture and village museum Oedelsheim
The figure welcomes all guests at the parking lot of the village museum Oedelsheim.
Oversized, he is on his way with a walking stick, sack and pack and carved out of wood that wind and weather cannot harm. This may be a symbol for passing hikers on the German Fairy Tale Route.
The museum is housed in a half-timbered building erected in 1656 by Diemelsächs in the style of a studded construction. The stands reach the height of the second floor and the gable rests directly on it.
The museum offers insights into local history, traditional crafts, textile production and the history of displaced persons. There are special exhibitions that change annually.
On the museum grounds there is also a half-timbered barn dedicated to historical agricultural technology with a rich collection of historical machines and equipment. There are also demonstrations at the annual museum events.
