Steinau Palace has been the secondary residence of the Earls von Hanau. It was newly re-erected in the 16th / 17th century by enlarging the mediaeval castle on a pentagonal outline. The impressively well-preserved Renaissance complex is a mixture between mediaeval castle, Renaissance palace, and fortress. Both palace kitchen and parlour are used for presentations.
