Polle castle ruin
The idyllic village of Polle lies a few kilometres south of Bodenwerder. The castle ruins of the Counts of Everstein tower high above historic half-timbered houses on a mountain spur. The magnificent panoramic view from the castle tower into the beautiful Wesertal valley invites you to linger and admire the scenery. This is Cinderella's house. The girl from the world-famous Brothers Grimm fairy tale enchants young and old lovers of fairy tales in a dream-like setting.
From the guest information desk at the foot of the castle ruins, a breakthrough in the meter-thick wall leads to a lovingly furnished room.
In the kitchen at the open stove with a flickering fire, a pot full of peas and lentils on her lap, surrounded by white doves, the Polle fairytale figure of Cinderella sits and awaits all young and old fairytale fans.
